1. Introduction

Welcome to ShortFuel. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of ShortFuel (the "Service"), operated by HootCodes LTD ("we", "us", or "our").

By accessing or using ShortFuel, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

2. Description of Service

ShortFuel is an AI-powered video generation platform that allows users to create short-form and long-form videos using artificial intelligence technologies, including but not limited to:

  • AI script generation
  • AI voiceover synthesis (text-to-speech)
  • Automatic caption generation and synchronization
  • AI-powered scene and background selection
  • Video rendering and export

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Maintain the security of your password and account
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access or use of your account
  • Maintain only one account per person — multiple accounts are strictly prohibited

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use the Service.

3.1 Multiple Account Policy

Multiple accounts are strictly prohibited.

  • Each user is permitted only one (1) account
  • Creating additional accounts to exploit free credits, promotions, referral programs, or circumvent restrictions is a violation of these Terms
  • We use technical measures including IP address tracking and device fingerprinting to detect multiple accounts
  • Violations may result in immediate suspension or permanent ban of all associated accounts without refund

3.2 Account Suspension and Bans

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently ban accounts for any of the following reasons:

  • Creating or operating multiple accounts
  • Abusing promotions, referral programs, or free credit offers
  • Fraudulent activity or payment chargebacks
  • Violating the Acceptable Use policy (Section 5)
  • Attempting to circumvent account restrictions or bans
  • Any other violation of these Terms

Banned users will be notified of the reason for their ban. Appeals may be submitted to [email protected]. Unused credits are not refundable for accounts terminated due to Terms violations.

4. Credits and Payments

4.1 Credit System

ShortFuel operates on a credit-based system. Credits are used to access AI features and generate content. Credits may be obtained through:

  • One-time purchases: Credit packs purchased for a fixed price
  • Subscriptions: Monthly plans that provide base credits and daily regeneration
  • Promotional offers: Free credits offered during sign-up or promotions

4.2 Credit Expiration

  • Purchased credits expire 60 days after purchase
  • Subscription base credits expire 30 days after being granted
  • Daily regeneration credits expire 3 days after being granted

4.3 Payment Processing

All payments are processed through Polar, our payment provider. By making a purchase, you agree to Polar's terms of service. We do not store your full payment card details.

4.4 Subscription Terms

Subscriptions are billed monthly and automatically renew unless cancelled. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to create, upload, or distribute content that:

  • Is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
  • Infringes on any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other intellectual property rights
  • Violates the privacy or publicity rights of any third party
  • Contains sexually explicit material or promotes violence
  • Promotes discrimination, hatred, or harm against any individual or group
  • Impersonates any person or entity, or falsely states or misrepresents your affiliation
  • Contains malware, viruses, or any other harmful code
  • Interferes with or disrupts the Service or servers connected to the Service
  • Attempts to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service
  • Is designed to deceive or mislead viewers (deepfakes for fraud, misinformation, etc.)

We reserve the right to terminate accounts and refuse service to anyone who violates these terms.

6. Content Ownership and Licensing

6.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of any content you input into the Service (scripts, images, audio files you upload). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your content solely to provide the Service.

6.2 Generated Content

Content generated by our AI (videos, voiceovers, captions) is licensed to you for commercial and personal use, subject to these Terms. You may use generated content for:

  • Social media posts (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, etc.)
  • Marketing and advertising materials
  • Educational content
  • Entertainment purposes

Important: You are responsible for ensuring your use of generated content complies with applicable laws and platform terms of service.

6.3 Third-Party Content

Some features may include third-party content (stock media, music, etc.) which may be subject to additional licensing terms. You are responsible for ensuring proper licensing for any third-party content used.

6.4 Copyright Disclaimer — ShortFuel as a Tool

IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

ShortFuel is a video editing and content generation tool, similar to traditional video editing software. We provide the technology and platform; you are solely responsible for the content you create.

  • No Copyright Claims: HootCodes LTD does not claim any copyright or ownership over content you create using ShortFuel. The content you generate is yours.
  • User Responsibility: You are fully and solely responsible for ensuring that your content (including scripts, images, audio, and generated videos) does not infringe on any third-party copyrights, trademarks, or intellectual property rights.
  • No Copyright Verification: We do not verify, monitor, or guarantee that content created through our platform is free from copyright infringement. This responsibility lies entirely with you.
  • Third-Party Materials: If you use scripts, images, music, or other materials from third parties, you must have the proper rights, licenses, or permissions to use them.
  • AI Outputs: AI-generated content (scripts, voiceovers, scene suggestions) may inadvertently resemble copyrighted material. You must review all outputs before use.

By using ShortFuel, you acknowledge that you bear full legal responsibility for any copyright, trademark, or intellectual property claims arising from your use of the Service or content you create.

7. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Important Notice: Content generated by ShortFuel is created using artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies.

  • AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or unintended outputs
  • You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying generated content before use
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated content
  • AI voices are synthetic and should not be represented as real human voices without disclosure where required by law

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its original content, features, and functionality (excluding user-generated content), is owned by HootCodes LTD and is protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Our trademarks, logos, and service marks may not be used in connection with any product or service without our prior written consent.

9. Service Availability and Modifications

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time
  • Change credit costs, pricing, and features with reasonable notice
  • Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance
  • Limit or restrict access to certain features

We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes to the Service.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HOOTCODES LTD SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
  • Any damages resulting from your use or inability to use the Service
  • Any content generated by the AI that is inaccurate, inappropriate, or causes harm
  • Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers or your personal information

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose
  • Warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
  • Warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of AI-generated content

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless HootCodes LTD, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including:

  • Breach of these Terms
  • Fraudulent or illegal activity
  • Abuse of the Service or its resources
  • Request from law enforcement or government agencies

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. Unused credits are not refundable upon termination for cause.

14. Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting support. Upon account deletion:

  • Your account data, including personal information and content, will be permanently deleted
  • Any unused credits will be forfeited and are non-refundable
  • Deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed

14.1 Abuse Prevention — Email Hash Retention

Important Notice:

To prevent abuse of our free credit system and promotional offers, we retain a one-way cryptographic hash of your email address after account deletion.

  • This hash is a unique fingerprint derived from your email using irreversible cryptographic functions
  • We cannot recover or identify your email address from this hash — it is mathematically impossible to reverse
  • The hash is used solely to detect if a previously deleted email attempts to register again
  • This prevents users from repeatedly deleting accounts to exploit free credits, referral bonuses, or promotional offers

This practice is consistent with our commitment to fair use and protecting the integrity of our service for all users. The retained hash contains no personally identifiable information that can be used to contact, identify, or track you.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Bulgaria, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to the courts of Sofia, Bulgaria.

16. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
